On a road trip holiday  in the US.. a few years back now.. the bit between Las Vegas and Death Valley..

Twilight was setting in and we passed a service station curiously all lit up in pink with a large Alien Head billboard. Cool, we thought.. (having not thought about this before we set off…) We were near the famous Area 51! (side note we are sci-fi ‘friends’)

So… we turned off at the next crossroads towards Death Valley, watching out for any signs of it. As we drove down the long straight road we saw, to the far right, an eerie set of vast hangar-like buildings with the huge overhead floodlights – could this be it?!

We turned the car around quickly and spotted a small track leading directly there..

Pulling closer we could make out rows and rows of smaller interconnected buildings and fields. Almost at the entrance we could see shadows moving in between the buildings and then it hit us… Mooo!!!

No – not really but the smell did.. and the shadows became apparent; thousands and thousands of cows! This was an industrial scale diary farm…;0)

We had such a laugh at ourselves…and Cow51 was born!

Forget Area 51…Cow51 is much better – because adventures are what ‘you’ make them!
